Greek melodic death metal veterans AMONGRUINS just unveiled their new video for "Into The Flame," and it's a masterclass in atmospheric brutality. Taken from their latest album Advent of Chaos (out now via Theogonia Records), the track features Christianna from Elysion, and her guest vocals bring a haunting, ethereal contrast to the band's crushing foundation.

Les vétérans grecs du melodic death metal AMONGRUINS viennent de dévoiler leur nouveau clip pour « Into The Flame », et c'est une masterclass de brutalité atmosphérique. Extrait de leur dernier album Advent of Chaos (disponible via Theogonia Records), le morceau accueille Christianna d'Elysion, dont les voix invitées apportent un contraste obsédant et éthéré à la base écrasante du groupe.

The sound is thick, dark, cinematic, and incredibly layered. I actually had to hit replay the second the vocal interplay between the grit and the clean melodies started, okay, wait... "replay" is an understatement; I've had this on a loop for the last twenty minutes. The production, handled by Saku Moilanen in Finland, gives it that massive Nordic weight you'd expect from bands like Insomnium or Wolfheart, but with a distinct Mediterranean darkness.

Le son est épais, sombre, cinématographique et incroyablement stratifié. J'ai dû appuyer sur replay dès que l'interaction vocale entre le grit et les mélodies claires a commencé, enfin… « replay » est faible ; je l'ai en boucle depuis vingt minutes. La production, assurée par Saku Moilanen en Finlande, lui donne ce poids nordique massif qu'on attend de groupes comme Insomnium ou Wolfheart, mais avec une noirceur méditerranéenne distincte.

I think my neighbors are probably wondering why the bass has been vibrating through the floorboards all afternoon. The track perfectly balances that raw aggression with a deep, emotional core that's rare to find in the genre. If you're a fan of Dark Tranquillity or Omnium Gatherum, this is going to hit a nerve immediately.

Je pense que mes voisins se demandent pourquoi la basse fait vibrer les planchers tout l'après-midi. Le morceau équilibre parfaitement cette agression brute avec un noyau émotionnel profond, rare dans le genre. Si t'es fan de Dark Tranquillity ou d'Omnium Gatherum, ça va toucher un nerf immédiatement.

The video itself, directed by Haris Kountouris, is just as intense as the music: dark, striking imagery that captures the themes of destruction and rebirth perfectly. It's easily one of the most ambitious things they've done to date. No joke.
