I just resurfaced after fifteen minutes of total apnea, and honestly... I still have that feeling of pressure in my chest, as if the oxygen in my office has been sucked out. I'm talking about Tombeaux de Fer and their debut strike, L'Acier Victorieux, released through Adipocere Records.

Je viens de refaire surface après quinze minutes d'apnée totale, et honnêtement… j'ai encore cette sensation de pression dans la poitrine, comme si l'oxygène de mon bureau avait été aspiré. Je parle de Tombeaux de Fer et de leur frappe inaugurale, L'Acier Victorieux, sorti via Adipocere Records.

Born in 2024 near Gex, France, this solo project was fueled by a very... uh... specific obsession: the intersection of raw Black Metal and the naval history of U-Boot submariners. Morkhor, the solitary soul behind the controls, recorded this in his garage with minimalist equipment. You can practically smell the diesel fuel and rust in the production.
It's not a long journey: it's a fifteen-minute blitzkrieg that hits like a torpedo. The sound bubbles with hatred, plunging into an abyss of mechanical blasts and freezing, saturated riffs. Each track is named after a German submersible: U-118, U-68, U-183—carrying an authoritative and menacing imagery. Morkhor is clear that there's no political dimension here, just the raw power and the "poetry of steel" of these machines.

Né en 2024 près de Gex, en France, ce projet solo est alimenté par une obsession très… euh… spécifique : l'intersection du Black Metal cru et de l'histoire navale des sous-mariniers de U-Boote. Morkhor, l'âme solitaire aux commandes, a enregistré ça dans son garage avec un équipement minimaliste. On sent presque l'odeur du gasoil et de la rouille dans la production.
Ce n'est pas un long voyage : c'est un blitzkrieg de quinze minutes qui frappe comme une torpille. Le son bouillonne de haine, plonge dans un abîme de blasts mécaniques et de riffs saturés et glacials. Chaque morceau porte le nom d'un submersible allemand : U-118, U-68, U-183—portant une imagerie autoritaire et menaçante. Morkhor précise qu'il n'y a aucune dimension politique ici, juste la puissance brute et la « poésie de l'acier » de ces machines.

The atmosphere reminds me of primitive Hate Forest, that ability to spit out glimmers of black beauty from a place of absolute bitterness. The vocals sound like they've been corroded by salt, tearing through the mix with a scorched distress. It all ends with "Naufrage," an instrumental piece that drips with the sad decay of a iron hull settling on the ocean floor. It's brief, it's radical, but the identity is implacable. L'atmosphère rappelle le Hate Forest primitif, cette capacité à cracher des lueurs de beauté noire d'un lieu d'amertume absolue. Le chant semble corrodé par le sel, déchirant le mix avec une détresse calcinée. Tout se termine par « Naufrage », un morceau instrumental qui dégouline de la triste décomposition d'une coque en fer reposant sur le fond de l'océan. C'est bref, radical, mais l'identité est implacable.
