Taken from their concept album Gan Eden, the track drops the heavy distortion almost entirely to focus on a slow, eerie atmosphere. The story behind it is fascinating: reimagining Eve not as the villain of human history, but as an engineered creation standing up to her creators in a sci‑fi spin on Genesis. But honestly, what kept me hooked was the sheer patience of the song. There's no sudden blast beat or heavy breakdown waiting around the corner to remind you it's a metal record. The vocals carry the whole thing over a calm, swelling backdrop that feels almost cinematic.
Je ne m'attendais pas à une ballade quand j'ai vu « progressive metal » associé à Gan Eden, mais « Eva » change complètement de registre. Extrait de leur album concept Gan Eden, le morceau abandonne presque entièrement la distorsion lourde pour se concentrer sur une atmosphère lente et inquiétante. L'histoire derrière est fascinante : réimaginer Ève non pas comme la méchante de l'histoire humaine, mais comme une création génétiquement modifiée qui se dresse face à ses créateurs dans une version science‑fiction de la Genèse. Mais honnêtement, ce qui m'a retenu, c'est la patience de la chanson. Il n'y a pas de blast beat soudain ou de breakdown lourd qui vous rappelle que c'est un album de metal. Les voix portent l'ensemble sur un fond calme et grandiose qui semble presque cinématographique.

For a few minutes, I completely forgot I was listening to a progressive metal band. Halfway through, when the arrangement slowly expands without ever breaking into unnecessary violence, the message actually hits much harder. I even caught myself replaying the final minute just to stay in that quiet, heavy atmosphere a little longer. If you like prog that isn't afraid to strip everything back to tell a story, "Eva" is definitely worth four minutes of your time.
Pendant quelques minutes, j'ai complètement oublié que j'écoutais un groupe de metal progressif. À la moitié du morceau, quand l'arrangement s'étend lentement sans jamais basculer dans une violence inutile, le message frappe bien plus fort. Je me suis même surpris à rejouer la dernière minute pour rester un peu plus longtemps dans cette atmosphère calme et lourde. Si vous aimez le prog qui n'a pas peur de tout dépouiller pour raconter une histoire, « Eva » mérite vraiment quatre minutes de votre temps.
