Review: Carnal Desecration - "The Casket Born" (Single)
BELGIAN DEATH METAL OUTFIT DELIVERS AN EFFECTIVE, RAW OLD‑SCHOOL PREVIEW OF THEIR UPCOMING ALBUM
Belgian death metal outfit Carnal Desecration have dropped "The Casket Born," the lead single from their upcoming album Ancient Malediction, arriving October 15th, 2026 via Thrash Records. If you're tracking the European underground for death metal that skips over‑triggered drums and modern polish, Antwerp's Carnal Desecration get straight to business. "The Casket Born" opens on a tight blast‑beat before settling into the kind of heavy, murky groove that dominated the early 90s Florida and Swedish scenes. The strength of the track lies in its pacing: Pieter Van de Putte and Timmy De Beuckeleer's dual‑guitar work shifts smoothly from fast, biting thrash riffs into suffocating mid‑tempo breaks. Kristof Hectors' guttural delivery holds the center without being buried in the mix, while Bob Briessinck's production leaves enough room for the bass and drums to sound like actual instruments in a room rather than a digital grid.
"The Casket Born"
It's an effective preview that shows exactly where the band is heading. Carnal Desecration know how to build momentum, hit hard on the slow breakdowns, and keep the energy raw.
