Lord of Damnation is the first studio album by the German death metal band Helldrifter released in October 2021.
The Albums lyrical themes are focused mostly on mysticism, sociological issues, horror movies and video games, with a heavy dose of surrealism. The music has an energetic approach with elements going from straight thrash to more complex death metal parts. . It is heavily inspired by death metal giants such as Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, Death and At The Gates.
The album was recorded in 2020 at the HardDriveSounds Studios in our Hometown Suttgart and was mastered by US mastering engineer Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust, PowerTrip, Lord Dying)
The artwork was made by Brian Mercer who also made art for bands such as Lamb of God, Alice in Chains, High on Fire, etc.
