TRADITIONAL HEAVY METAL WITH RAW EFFICIENCY
Je suis Born Again depuis un moment, et leur nouveau single "Strike of the Sinner" est une bonne surprise, même s'il demande deux écoutes pour être apprivoisé.
I've been tracking Born Again for a while, and their new single "Strike of the Sinner" is a solid track, even if it takes a couple of spins to fully get into.
Le morceau reste dans un heavy metal très traditionnel, sans surprise majeure, mais l'efficacité est bien là. Steff pose un riff hyper direct et le chant de Thierry a une tension brute, vraiment sincère, qui porte le refrain sans forcer. La prod de François Michaud au Wild Horse Studio est ultra-propre, peut-être même un poil trop lisse pour un groupe de ce genre, mais ça permet au moins d'apprécier la section rythmique de Pich et Jérôme, qui joue serré.
The song sticks to a very traditional heavy metal blueprint with no major surprises, but the efficiency is definitely there. Steff delivers a sharp, no-nonsense riff and Thierry's vocals have this genuine, gritty tension that carries the chorus effortlessly. François Michaud's production at Wild Horse Studio is crystal clean, maybe a bit too polished for a band like this, but it actually lets you appreciate how tight Pich and Jérôme's rhythm section is.
Bref, pas de révolution ici, mais de l'efficacité brute avant l'album "New Metal Breed" le 6 juin. Stay Metal.
