Bloodmores are back, and they’re not messing around. The Lancashire-born thrash/death metal force has just unleashed Pick Your Poison, a lean, venomous cut that signals the next phase for one of the UK’s most consistent underground acts.
No flash, no samples, no dancefloor detours: just sharp, serrated riffing, urgent pacing, and that signature blend of melody and menace they’ve honed over the past decade. Since forming in 2010, Bloodmores have built their rep the hard way: through relentless gigging, two well-received albums (The Seeds Of Seasons in 2019, Too Close To The Sun in 2021), and a commanding live presence that earned them a slot at Bloodstock Open Air in 2023, a badge of honour in the British metal scene.
Pick Your Poison arrives as a standalone single, dropped ahead of their upcoming third album, which the band plans to record later this year. It’s not a reinvention, but it’s far from autopilot. Alex Cunliffe’s vocals cut through with grit and clarity, while Richard Jodrell’s riffs balance technical precision with raw punch. The song feels focused, like a band tightening the screws, not chasing approval.
What stands out is the intent. In an era of quick drops and viral stunts, Bloodmores still believe in albums, in arcs, in earning your place. They don’t need hype. They’ve got riffs, road miles, and a growing catalogue that speaks for itself.
No release date yet for the new LP, but Pick Your Poison is a clear signal: they’re not slowing down.
