Naitaka - Hatchet Through Heartwood

What's New:

Canadian death/thrashers NAITAKA are making waves with their debut full-length album, "Emergence," was released in April 2023. To promote this new release, the band has released a lyric video for the track "Hatchet Through Heartwood."

Formed in 2019 in Kelowna, BC, Naitaka is a band that blends thrash metal with power and melodic death metal. The band features lead vocalist Cara McCutchen, who has previously performed with Mortillery and ex-Minax, and guitarist Troy Melnyk, who has played with Worship or Sin and Sacrilege. They are joined by drummer Tyler Dake from Kelowna BC, and bassist John Shippit, who is also from Kelowna BC.

Unfortunately, Shippit had to step away from the band due to a heavy school workload. However, he found his way back to the band in mid-October 2020. The band also experienced some lineup changes in early September 2020 when they parted ways with guitarist Cody Lonsdale and began searching for a second lead guitar player.

Despite these challenges, Naitaka managed to record their first self-titled EP, which was released on CD and digitally in February 2021. During the pandemic, the band continued to work on their music, resulting in the release of their debut full-length album, "Emergence," in April 2023.

The album showcases Naitaka's unique blend of thrash, power, and melodic death metal, and features powerful tracks like "Hatchet Through Heartwood." The lyric video for this track highlights the band's energetic and intense style, with lyrics that speak to the band's passion for creating music.
With their debut album released and promotion underway, Naitaka is poised to make a name for themselves in the metal world. Be sure to check out their new album and stay tuned for more exciting news from this up-and-coming band.
