Phoboian - "The Plague"

What's New:

Phoboian’s First Single is Here!

Get ready because Finland’s newest melodic death metal sensation Phoboian just dropped their first single, and it’s nothing short of epic! Hailing from Turku, this band brings the perfect blend of crushing riffs and hauntingly beautiful classical female vocals. Yeah, they’re not your typical metal group—they’ve got that unique Nordic melancholy mixed with some serious symphonic vibes.

The story of Phoboian is pretty wild. It’s 2017, after a metal gig, and some seriously talented musicians come together at an afterparty. Fast forward a bit, and we’ve got six rock-solid members: Inka Laitinen and Eeva Korhonen on vocals (yep, two powerful voices!), Kristo Rautavuori killing it on drums, Jonathan Åkerman laying down those bass grooves, and Olli Kuure and Otso Turunen shredding on guitars.

After a bit of radio silence, these guys are back with their single "The Plague"—and trust me, it’s a banger. The track isn’t just a song; it’s a full-on journey through humanity’s demise via a deadly pandemic. Grim? Sure. But beautiful too, with the perfect combo of medieval religious vibes and a modern scientific nightmare. It’s more of a warning shot than a doom prophecy. So...don’t say they didn’t warn us!

What the band’s saying:
Otso Turunen (Guitarist):
"The Plague is hands down one of my top picks from the upcoming album. Those harmonies, those rhythms—they just get under your skin in the best way. It’s heavy, but it’s also got that groove that you can’t help but rock out to. Plus, working with the band and Eeva has been pure magic. I really think listeners will feel that same energy. It’s not just music—it’s a story we’re dying to share with you."

Inka Laitinen (Vocalist):
"We poured a lot of heart and soul into 'The Plague'. It’s not just about the dark themes, but also the emotional energy behind the music. We’ve built something that’s both powerful and meaningful—our own little piece of history."
