…Just a Little Backstory…
Born in 2015 in the chilly twilight of the “cold lands,” Last Addiction kicked things off in late 2016. It all began with a tight-knit crew of four—Gael Augier on guitar (the mastermind behind it all), Dylan Fournet belting out vocals, Will Guinet on bass, and Thomas Chaverondier pounding the drums. Then, in a game-changing twist, Vincent Delphin hopped on as lead guitarist in September 2020. Now that’s what I call an upgrade!
Lyrically, they dig deep into theories like “collapse” and explore the darker side of humanity, the loneliness and woes we all grapple with. And talk about musical influence; this crew isn’t about to be pigeonholed into one style! They’ve got a solid foundation in modern heavy metal but sprinkle in everything from metalcore to post-rock, even a dash of extreme metal—all while keeping it melodic.
And let's talk about those vocals—one moment, you’ve got a high, clean serenade, then BAM, raging screams crash in. It’s a wild ride that leaves you breathless! They released their first EP back in November 2019, followed by their debut LP, "Inner Abyss," featuring eight explosive tracks in April 2021.
Since hitting the scene, they’ve played countless shows across France, even sharing the stage with big names (cue Audrey Horn) and rocking the legendary Wacken Open Air after winning the French WOA battle in August 2022! I mean, who wouldn't want to stand where the legends have rocked?
