So, a bit of background—O.Y.D. kicked things off with a bang when they decided to team up with none other than the legendary producer, Toby Wright, known for working with heavyweights like Metallica, Alice in Chains, and Slayer. That was a game-changer! Back in 2014, they recorded their debut album, “Deep Breath,” at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studios, with Toby pulling the strings. The album hit the shelves globally in 2015, and it was just the start of their journey.
After cycling through a few lineup changes—ah, the classic band struggle!—they finally found their footing in 2016. With a mission to fuse different styles, they drew heavy inspiration from Metalcore, Progressive Metal, and Punk. Fast forward to 2018, when they recorded “Indigo” at Fredman Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden, with Fredrik Nordström, the mastermind behind hits for Architects and Bring Me The Horizon, producing the record. Dropping in 2019, “Indigo” featured some of their biggest tracks, like “Nanohopes,” “Indigo Flow,” and “Going Ballistic.” Talk about a solid collection!
But then came the wake-up call: the events in Minneapolis. Motivated to address racism and injustice, O.Y.D. unleashed one of their most aggressive songs yet, “Bring Them To Justice,” in 2021. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID and another round of lineup tweaks, O.Y.D. came back roaring and more determined than ever. They’ve been promoting both “Indigo” and “Bring Them To Justice” by hitting the festival circuit, sharing the stage with bands like Pantera, Disturbed, Bullet For My Valentine, Nova Twins, and Hammerfall.
