Genus Ordinis Dei - "Eternal Live"

New Release: Genus Ordinis Dei

Genus Ordinis Dei: Live, Loud, and Unleashed – Eternal Live Hits June 13!

I've got goosebumps just thinking about it. Genus Ordinis Dei are back, and this time they’re unleashing their full live fury with Eternal Live, dropping June 13. It’s not just another live album, it’s a damn metal ritual.

I first stumbled across these Italian wizards back in 2013, during the chaos of The Middle. Three classically-trained maniacs from Crema, Nick K, Tommy Monticelli, and Nico Pedrali, blending brutal death metal with cinematic grandeur? I was hooked fast. And then came the Lacuna Coil connection, Marco Coti Zelati jumping on production, and boom! they’re signed to Eclipse Records.

I mean, Great Olden Dynasty in 2017 had Cristina Scabbia belting on “Salem.” That track alone still gives me chills. Then 2020’s Glare of Deliverance? Ten tracks, ten short films. It was like if Game of Thrones had a baby with Meshuggah. Wild, beautiful, and so damn heavy.

Even during the pandemic they didn't slow down. The Beginning in 2023 felt like a prequel forged in fire: more raw, more mythic.

And now Eternal Live? Recorded on tour with Xandria and Sirenia, this beast captures them at their most furious. “Aeternus” crushes live, and their Manowar cover hits harder than I expected, honestly. But it’s Ambre Vourvahis guesting on “Eternal Cycle” and “Salem” that just took me out. Her voice adds a whole new layer to the chaos.

G.O.D. live is a different creature. Controlled madness. The precision, the atmosphere: it’s as close as you get to metal church. If you've never seen them, this record’s your next best bet. And if you have? Well, you already know.

Don’t sleep on this. Mark it. Blast it. Worship it. \m/
