What's New: Anger Machine
Anger Machine - “Obstacle Course”: A Thrash Metal Gauntlet, No Flair, Just Fists and Guitars
Alright, thrash fans, let’s talk about Anger Machine , the Dutch band that knows how to punch, solo, and deliver a record that hits like it means business.
Back in 2015, they started as a five-piece with some serious names attached, like Tim Koole from Man As Plague and Remus Stingaciu on vocals. They dropped an EP (Unbreakable ), a single (Warpath ), and even won awards for their debut album Trail of the Perished . But now? They’ve slimmed down to a four-piece and found something even heavier.
Enter Thijmen den Hartigh , guitarist turned lead vocalist. With Martijn de Jong (guitar), Corné van der Vlugt (drums) and Merijn Kloosterman (bass), all bringing serious cred from other bands, they’ve built something tighter, faster, and more real than ever before.
Their new track “Obstacle Course” is already giving me flashbacks to the late ‘80s, when thrash meant speed, skill, and no bullsh*t. Think Testament , Annihilator , maybe a bit of Metallica and Exodus, but with all the energy of a live set where the crowd’s sweat is dripping off the stage.
They don’t mess around with gimmicks or overproduced nonsense. Just pure, unapologetic thrash. Catchy riffs. Blistering solos. And vocals that scream like someone just lit your house on fire.
And yeah, if you’re into songs that make you want to slam your fist on the table while headbanging in your kitchen, this one’s for you.
Honestly, I love seeing bands strip things back and focus on what matters: playing music that makes you feel alive. That’s exactly what Human Error promises, and so far, it’s delivering.
So go listen. Go rage. And remember, no shortcuts in thrash. You either run the course… or get run over by it.
