Rise of the Wood - “Discharge”: When PowerGroove Gets a Second Wind

Hey, rock fans. If you like your music with a little groove, a lot of attitude, and enough melody to make you want to scream along in the pit, then Rise of the Wood just dropped something that hits all the right spots.

Their new album “Discharge” drops on August 21 , and it’s packed with 12 brand-new songs that swing between metal and rock like they own the place. Think Queens of the Stone Age meets Red Fang , with a dash of Alice In Chains and Mastodon . It’s heavy when it needs to be, catchy when it wants to be and always full of energy.

The track “Sleep” is already giving us chills. Watch the video here:

This is what happens when five guys from South Holland don’t play by the rules. Since forming in 2014, they’ve been evolving, changing line-ups, and finding their sound, one riff at a time. The current crew? A perfect storm of talent:
Jeff Teunissen – Guitars
Ronald Boonstra – Guitars
Dennis Davidse – Bass
Eric Stolze – Drums
Leo Gstrein – Vocals

They’ve played big festivals like DijkRock and WesterPop, but this album? This is their biggest statement yet. Recorded, written, and mixed in London at Tide Studio , “Discharge” shows how far they’ve come without losing that raw edge that made them cool in the first place.

So yeah, if you’re ready for some real, no-filler, headbanging fuel, this one’s for you.

Honestly, this album has soul, sweat, and everything I look for in modern metal-rock hybrids.
Time to rise up. Time to turn it up.
