What's New: Sound Affliction
Sound Affliction - “Devil In Me”: When the Devil Inside Gets Too Loud to Ignore
Hey, rock lovers. If you’re into your music with a bit of grit, some soul, and a story that actually means something , then Sound Affliction just dropped a new single that’s going to hit you right in the feels.
Coming out of Brisbane, this hard rock band just dropped a track that doesn’t sugarcoat anything. It’s about hiding from your demons, pretending everything’s fine while the world crumbles around you, and the guilt that follows. The band says it best:
“It details the perceived need of an addict to hide from their problems and the regret of the pain this causes others.”
That kind of honesty? That’s not easy to write. And it shows. From the first riff to the final scream, “Devil In Me” is raw, real, and ready to shake you up. XMusic’s Tim McLean-Smith put it simply:
“A 4 on the floor track with BIG riffs to blow your head off… Enjoy!”
And let me tell ya, I’m enjoying it. A lot.
The lineup? All pros. Frontman Matt , who’s cut his teeth in bands like Scandal Tree and Don’t Come Monday , has a voice that can go from growling to soaring in a breath. Guitars are handled by Dan (ex-Black Whiskey ) and Wayne (ex-Scandal Tree ), two guys who know how to make heavy sound melodic and vice versa. Drummer Travis and bassist Kev Brown (Pyre & Ice ) keep things tight, fast, and full of attitude.
This isn’t just another hard rock song. It’s a story. One we all might know too well.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect much from a new Australian band, but this one? This one sticks. Rock n’ roll with soul, grit, and a little bit of heartbreak. That’s rare. That’s good.
So crank it up. Let it rage. And remember: sometimes the devil inside is louder than the music.
