Papy Jeff Metal's Favorite of the Day: Sacrifix
Sacrifix Just Dropped the Thrash Bible: We’re All Sinners Now

When another band says they’re “bringing back old school thrash”, unfortunately, too often, it’s just noise with a mosh part and a Bonded by Blood tattoo. But Sacrifix? Nah. These São Paulo maniacs didn’t just bring it back: they exhumed it, injected it with pure adrenaline, and made it run naked through a police riot.
Their EP Let’s Thrash, out since February, but still hitting like a surprise elbow in the pit, isn’t a nostalgia trip. It’s a statement. And yeah, it’s already one of the most talked-about thrash releases of 2025. Not because it’s “fresh” or “innovative” (whatever that means), but because it’s honest. No gimmicks. No djent breakdowns. Just 20 minutes of chainsaw riffs, psychotic drumming, and Frank Gasparotto screaming like he’s trying to wake up dead Metallica roadies.
This is the first record with the fully stabilized lineup: Gasparotto on vocals/guitar, Diego Domingos shredding beside him, Filippe Tonini holding the low end like a pissed-off bouncer, and Fábio Moysés on drums, who frankly deserves a medal for not collapsing mid-beat. And you feel the unity. The title track? First song ever written as a full band and it shows. It’s chaotic, it’s tight, it’s alive. With guest shouts from Pedro Zupo (Living Metal) and gang vocals that’d make S.O.D. proud, it’s basically a pit in audio form.
And that fake-out intro? “Might make you dance… or not”? Yeah, right, it’s a trapdoor. One second you’re nodding along, next you’re in a heap of limbs and broken dignity. Pure evil. Love it.
The EP also serves as a brutal reminder of their older material, live-in-studio versions of Raped Democracy, Rotten, Mundo Nojento, now reborn with the new lineup’s raw, unhinged energy. It’s not just a re-recording. It’s a revenge.
Produced with their longtime sonic architect Marco Nunes, the sound is filthy but surgical. The artwork? A boot on a burning cross. The message? Clear.
And let’s not forget: this was just the warm-up. Their third full-length album drops end of year, and if Let’s Thrash is the appetizer… I’m gonna need a neck brace by December.
So yeah, thrash isn’t dead. It’s just been hiding in Brazil, sharpening its blades.
