GRENOUER - "Downtown Dream"

GRENOUER’s Downtown Dream: When Metal Gets a Brain (And a Glitch)

RUSSIA'S EVOLUTIONARY METAL EXPORT RETURNS

Watch the Video

Okay, so GRENOUER, Russia’s most stubbornly evolved metal export, are back with Downtown Dream, and honestly? It’s like they took Fear Factory’s industrial paranoia, Devin Townsend’s prog chaos, and Tesseract’s djent grooves, threw ‘em in a blender, and hit “puree”. Which, well that’s the thing: these guys refuse to repeat themselves. Three decades in, and they’re still the band your favorite band wishes they could be.

Started in ‘92 as some death’n’roll maniacs (Death of a Bite still slaps, fight me), they’ve since mutated into this polyrhythmic, synth-laced, riff-monster that somehow makes math metal feel like a bar brawl. Unwanted Today got a 10/10 in Powerplay, “Alone in the Dark” hit 30M views, and now? Now they’re on Brutal Records, dropping an album that’s equal parts cyberpunk nightmare and melodic hypnosis.

Tracks like "Synthetic Mutagen" hit like a server crash, "White Lies" lingers like a bad dream you can't shake and Andrey Ind's vocals? Dude's got range, from a whisper to a scream that'll rearrange your ribs.

The vinyl's gonna sell out fast, because of course it is and the digital's already waiting to mess with your playlists. Stream it, buy it, regret nothing.
