MORBONOCT UNVEILS “COLD WIND”: A STARE INTO THE COSMIC ABYSS

Watch the Video

Alright, so MORBONOCT just dropped a new single called Cold Wind and… yeah, this one doesn't just sound cold, it feels like someone cracked open an airlock and shoved you straight into the void. If you're into that whole Limbonic Art / Darkspace universe where the cosmos wants you dead, well, you're gonna feel right at home (or whatever passes for "home" in a black hole).

MORBONOCT started back in 2021 as a solo studio thing, and honestly it kept that "hermit building galaxies alone at 3AM" vibe. Then Dawid Wełnicki joined in 2023 and the whole project kinda shifted: more voice, more presence, more… dread? Four albums in already (Anmet, Chorna bezodnya, Galactic Gloom, The Highest Purpose) and now they're gearing up for the fifth: No One Knows We're Dying. Pretty cheerful title, huh.

Recorded and mixed in Szczecin by Aleksandr Medvediev, the guy also did the artwork and he described the record in a pretty raw way: "creation, existence, silence." They kept the vocals untouched, not too polished, because apparently the cracks matter. And honestly you can hear it: there's this almost uncomfortable honesty in the sound, like the mic is just slightly too close but on purpose. Feels human, and not-human at the same time (kinda the point).

And Cold Wind? It's bleak, massive, almost static in its atmosphere but somehow always moving. A slow drift toward nothingness. The kind of track you don't really "listen" to so much as disappear inside for a bit. Beautiful in that really depressing cosmic way.

Album lands digitally December 12, 2025. The cover art is pure deep-space terror, by the way: like a warning sign from a place we shouldn't even look at.

"MORBONOCT's 'Cold Wind' is a deeply atmospheric and immersive single that captures the essence of cosmic black metal. It successfully evokes a sense of vast, cold emptiness and existential dread, while maintaining a haunting beauty.
