So, Dawn Brings Revenge… yeah, I’ll be honest, the first time I heard the name I thought, alright, here we go, another metalcore thing. But nope, wrong. These guys blasted out of Avignon back in 2024 like a bloody freight train with no brakes and too much caffeine.

Alors, Dawn Brings Revenge… avouons-le : à l’annonce du nom, on s’attendait au énième clone metalcore. Erreur. Ce combo d’Avignon a déboulé en 2024 comme un train de marchandises bourré de nitro ; sans freins, sans concession, et avec une énergie dévastatrice.

It kicked off with Charly and Hugo messing around with a Sam Smith cover, Unholy, of all tracks (don’t ask me why, I’m still figuring it out myself). Then they ran into Florent during a Gojira gig in Nîmes, and the guy just clicked into the drum seat like he'd been waiting there the whole time. Nico jumped in on bass in 2025, and boom, lineup locked.

Tout a commencé avec Charly et Hugo qui s’amusaient à massacrer en version trash le « Unholy » de Sam Smith (ne me demandez pas pourquoi, je cherche encore). Puis, coup de chance ou de destin : rencontre avec Florent en coulisses d’un concert de Gojira à Nîmes. Le type s’assoit derrière les fûts comme s’il y avait toujours été. Nico rejoint la formation à la basse en 2025, et voilà : la line-up est scellée.

Destiny or dumb luck, whatever it was, it worked. Their early singles? Man. Break The Surface, Mammoth, Dysthymia, each one heavier, sharper, almost annoyingly catchy. The kind of stuff you put on “just to check it out” and suddenly it’s 2 a.m. and you’re headbanging alone in your kitchen like an idiot (don’t pretend you haven't).

Hasard ou destin, peu importe : ça a fonctionné. Leurs premiers singles ? « Break The Surface », « Mammoth », « Dysthymia », chaque titre plus lourd, plus tranchant, et foutrement accrocheur. Le genre de musique qu’on lance « juste pour écouter »… et dont on se rend compte à 2h du mat’ qu’on headbangue seul dans sa cuisine. Ne niez pas, on vous a tous vus.

Then 2025 hits and they drop Of Blood And Lust, Atom, N.U.N.O. and at that point it’s pretty clear they’re not just playing metalcore. They’re kinda twisting it, bending it, maybe breaking it a bit on purpose. Good.

Arrive 2025, et le groupe largue « Of Blood And Lust », « Atom » et « N.U.N.O. ». À ce stade, une chose devient évidente : Dawn Brings Revenge ne se contente pas de jouer du metalcore, il le tord, le plie, le brise même, avec délice. Et c’est exactement ce qu’il nous fallait.

And now we’ve got the debut EP, Of Death And Salvation, out since November 15, 2025. It’s a proper punch in the teeth: brutal grooves, big hooks, that restless energy that makes you wanna push furniture around just to feel something.

Et voilà maintenant l’EP inaugural, Of Death And Salvation, sorti le 15 novembre 2025. Un uppercut en pleine gueule : des grooves brutaux, des refrains qui s’incrustent, et cette énergie nerveuse qui vous donne envie de renverser le canapé juste pour exister un peu plus fort.
