If your ears have been hanging around the pit for a while, the name ICELAND should ring a bell. We’re talking about one of the best-kept secrets in French Thrash history. Formed back in the early 90s, the band left a mark with a cult debut in ’95 and over 200 shows before vanishing, leaving us all wanting more.

Formé au début des années 90, le groupe a laissé sa marque avec un premier album culte en 95 et plus de 200 concerts avant de disparaître, nous laissant tous sur notre faim.

2021: The ashes started stirring. The guys dug up the original tracks to give 'em a second life. But look, this isn't some cheap dusting-off for nostalgic old-timers missing their patch vests. With Legacy, ICELAND is dropping a 2025 version on steroids. And for this one, they brought out the heavy artillery behind the kit: Franky Costanza, Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth), and Aurélien Ouzoulias. Long story short: it’s surgical-grade carnage.

Mais regardez, ce n’est pas juste un dépoussiérage bon marché pour les vétérans nostalgiques qui manquent de leurs gilets à patchs. Avec Legacy, ICELAND lâche une version 2025 sur stéroïdes. Et pour ce coup, ils ont sorti l’artillerie lourde derrière la batterie : Franky Costanza, Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth), et Aurélien Ouzoulias. En résumé : c’est un carnage de précision chirurgicale.

On the production side, HK (Vamacara Studio) is at the helm, and the verdict is final: it’s massive. You get the pure essence of the genre: the aggression of SLAYER, the razor-sharp efficiency of MEGADETH, and that grimey heaviness inherited from early SABBATH. But Legacy is mostly about attitude. It’s a middle finger to the passing of time, a riff-driven proof that Thrash isn't going anywhere.

Côté production, HK (Vamacara Studio) est aux commandes, et le verdict est sans appel : c’est massif. Vous obtenez l’essence pure du genre : l’agressivité de SLAYER, l’efficacité tranchante de MEGADETH, et cette lourdeur crasseuse héritée du SABBATH des débuts. Mais Legacy, c’est surtout une question d’attitude. C’est un doigt d’honneur au passage du temps, une preuve basée sur les riffs que le Thrash ne bouge pas d’un iota.
