Hungary’s Obey the Sun just signed a worldwide deal with Eclipse Records, and if you thought grunge-metal was dead, think again. These guys are hot-blooded, headstrong, and unapologetic, serving up massive riffs, thunderous rhythms, and vocals that rasp like a whiskey-soaked prayer. Their new EP, Desert Ritual (produced by Attila Horváth at the legendary ASH Sound Studio), drops April 3, 2026, and it’s darker, groovier, and more personal than anything they’ve done before.

From the swaggering, dissonant groove of "You Lil' Shit" (yes, that’s the title, and yes, it slaps) to the funky, nuclear riffing of "Cosmic Haze" and the haunting dynamics of "Hellhounds", this EP is a masterclass in grit and groove. Tamás Orbán-Ducos’ vocals shift from soulful croons to raw, desert-howling snarls, while the rhythm section hits like a sandstorm of sludge and swing. And "Another Chance"? That track’s got razz, sass, and a bassline that rides like a warhorse into the apocalypse.
