Shoot The Singers - "Nobody"

New Release: SHOOT THE SINGERS Are Back

JUST KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN: A NOISE-POP/GRUNGE PUNCH TO THE FACE

Watch "Nobody"

Okay, let’s cut the bullshit: Shoot The Singers are that rare breed of band who sound like they’ve been marinated in the ‘90s alt-rock scene but somehow still manage to feel fresh. Like, honestly, how many bands can name-drop Nada Surf, Soundgarden, and The Beatles without sounding like a Spotify algorithm gone rogue? These Besançon-based noise-pop/grunge misfits have been doing their thing since 2012, and their new album, Just Keep Your Head Down (out Oct 17 via M&O Music), is basically them flipping the bird at musical trends while winking at you.

The first single, “Nobody,” dropped in September with a clip that’s… well, that’s the thing: it’s got that raw, slightly unhinged energy you’d expect from a band who’ve shared stages with Napalm Death and Dead Meadow. The album itself? A chaotic love letter to everything from Pavement’s slacker charm to Sonic Youth’s noise experiments, but with Shoot The Singers’ signature twist: lyrics that dissect human behavior like a scalpel wrapped in sarcasm. And yeah, the irony’s thick because why not laugh while the world burns?

They're hitting the road starting, and if their past tours are anything to go by, expect a live show that's equal parts cathartic and chaotic. The album's already streaming, so give it a listen if you want or don't, but you'd be missing out on one of the few bands who still sound like they give a damn.

"Shoot The Singers' 'Just Keep Your Head Down' is a vibrant and chaotic return that successfully blends nostalgic '90s influences with a modern, sharp edge. It's a noisy, sarcastic, and surprisingly thoughtful record that captures the band's unique perspective and energy. A solid release for fans of alternative and grunge rock."
