To Discover: Executionist
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK. NO MERCY.
Executionist just dropped Sacrament of the Sick and yeah… it hits harder than expected.
I’m tired, volume too loud, still, this thing woke me up. Fast.
Thrash at full throttle, but not dumb-thrash. Razor riffs slicing left and right, drums hammering like they mean it, and then, boom, melody sneaks in. Iron Maiden ghosts, a bit of Kreator bite, even some Bodom-ish sharpness flashing through. Not copying. Channeling. Big difference.
Charleston, West Virginia. Underground roots. You can hear the grind, the sweat, the rehearsal room walls shaking. This isn’t polite metal. It’s tight, hungry, slightly pissed off. Songs rush forward, then slow down just enough to crush you properly. That balance? Hard to get right. They do.
I caught myself nodding like halfway through. Rewound a track. Played it again. Yeah, that riff, that one. You know the feeling.
Sacrament of the Sick feels like a debut that already knows where it’s going. Confident but still raw, still sharp around the edges. I like that. Too many bands sand that stuff down. Executionist didn’t. Good call.

No pressure, but if thrash still means something to you… hit play.

"Executionist's 'Sacrament of the Sick' delivers fast, razor-sharp thrash metal. With tight, hungry energy and a balance of aggression and melody, it's a strong debut..."
« L'album 'Sacrament of the Sick' d'Executionist délivre un thrash métal rapide et tranchant comme un rasoir. Avec une énergie serrée et affamée, et un équilibre entre agression et mélodie, c’est un excellent premier album... »
