FINALLY some proper Finnish thrash that doesn't overthink it. Krushor's debut EP Taste of Hatred (out Jan 9 via Inverse Records) sounds like someone fed early Kreator through a woodchipper in -30°C Helsinki weather. Four tracks. Zero bullshit.

ENFIN du thrash finlandais authentique, sans prise de tête. Le premier EP de Krushor, Taste of Hatred (sortie le 9 janvier via Inverse Records), sonne comme si quelqu’un avait passé les premiers Kreator dans un broyeur à bois par -30°C à Helsinki. Quatre morceaux. Zéro connerie.

"Shockwave" starts with a riff so sharp I checked my speakers for blood. "Vortex"? Pure pit fuel. And don't get me started on "Rise Above": those gang vocals sound like they were recorded in a basement with the mic duct-taped to a beer keg (this is a compliment).

'Shockwave' démarre avec un riff si tranchant que j’ai vérifié mes enceintes à la recherche de sang. 'Vortex' ? Du carburant pur pour la fosse. Et ne me lancez pas sur 'Rise Above' : ces voix de groupe semblent enregistrées en sous-sol avec le micro scotché au ruban adhésif sur un fût de bière (c’est un compliment).

What's wild is these guys operate like a thrash commune: no "main songwriter," just five dudes arguing over riffs until something sticks. Their bio says they "talk about difficult things" and yeah, you can tell. Lyrics hit like a fist to the throat but in that cathartic way where you wanna scream along while breaking furniture.

Ce qui est dingue, c’est que ces gars opèrent comme une communauté thrash : pas de 'chanteur principal', juste cinq types qui se chamaillent autour des riffs jusqu’à ce que ça colle. Leur biographie dit qu’ils 'parlent de choses difficiles' et ouais, on le sent. Les paroles frappent comme un poing dans la gorge, mais d’une manière cathartique où vous avez envie de hurler en même temps que vous fracassez le mobilier.

Production's raw as hell, can practically hear the drummer's sticks splintering on "Taste of Hatred." No fancy studio tricks, just the sound of a band that probably rehearses in a converted meat locker.

La production est brute comme l’enfer, on entend presque les baguettes du batteur se fendre sur 'Taste of Hatred'. Pas de tours de studio sophistiqués, juste le son d’un groupe qui répète probablement dans une ancienne cellule réfrigérée.
