Back to Bergen, Norway, second hit from Masheena and my coffee’s cold already. This one’s called “Sara Lost Her Way”, pulled from the upcoming album Let The Spiders In (April 2026). First single was Been Waiting back in October, remember? This feels like the other side of the coin. Quieter. Heavier in the head.

Retour à Bergen, Norvège, deuxième titre de Masheena et mon café est déjà froid. Celui-ci s’appelle 'Sara Lost Her Way', extrait du prochain album Let The Spiders In (avril 2026). Le premier single était Been Waiting en octobre, vous vous souvenez ? Celui-ci semble être l’autre côté de la médaille. Plus calme. Plus lourd dans la tête.

Mid-tempo. No fireworks. Just mood.
The song crawls instead of runs, built on a clean melodic guitar line and an understated groove that slowly gets under your skin. There’s that 90s alt-rock ghost hanging around, but sharpened, modern, no nostalgia trip. Texas dust in the lungs, cold desert night air on the face. You can almost see it. I did, anyway.

Tempo moyen. Pas de feux d’artifice. Juste une ambiance.
Le morceau rampe au lieu de courir, construit autour d’une ligne mélodique de guitare propre et d’un groove discret qui s’infiltre lentement sous la peau. Il y a ce fantôme d’alt-rock des années 90 qui rôde, mais aiguisé, moderne, pas de virée nostalgique. Poussière du Texas dans les poumons, air froid de nuit de désert sur le visage. On peut presque le voir. Moi en tout cas.

Funny thing is, this track was basically… abandoned. Sketches left behind during the first album sessions, lost, forgotten. Then found again while recording in Texas. Happens all the time, ideas sleeping until they wake up angry. The final shape came together with Machine on board (yeah, that Machine, Clutch, Lamb of God, King Crimson), plus extra rhythmic textures from fellow Bergen noise-maker Tarjei Strøm. Small details, big atmosphere.

Ce qui est drôle, c’est que ce morceau était en gros… abandonné. Des croquis laissés pendant les premières sessions d’enregistrement de l’album, perdus, oubliés. Puis retrouvés pendant l’enregistrement au Texas. Ça arrive tout le temps, des idées qui dorment jusqu’à ce qu’elles se réveillent en colère. La forme finale a été achevée avec Machine à bord (ouais, ce Machine-là, Clutch, Lamb of God, King Crimson), plus des textures rythmiques supplémentaires du bruiteur de Bergen Tarjei Strøm. Petits détails, grande atmosphère.

Masheena formed in 2021, but don’t get it twisted. These guys have decades in their bones. Around a hundred years combined, coming from bands like Immortal, Abbath, I, Royal Rooster, Lost At Last, ST Satan. Hard rock lifers. West Coast hard rock, even. There’s a reason the debut album is literally called that.

Masheena s’est formé en 2021, mais ne vous y trompez pas. Ces gars ont des décennies dans les os. Environ cent ans combinés, venant de groupes comme Immortal, Abbath, I, Royal Rooster, Lost At Last, ST Satan. Des vétérans du hard rock. Du hard rock de la côte ouest, même. Il y a une raison si le premier album s’appelle littéralement comme ça.

This one doesn’t scream.
It stares.

Celui-ci ne hurle pas.
Il fixe.

Spin it loud. Or alone.
