Bloodstained Halo: Finland's Got Teeth, And "What Remains Of Me" Proves It

Ok so there's this band from Lahti, Finland, Bloodstained Halo, and they literally just formed like six months ago (July 2025, bref) but they're already swinging with the kind of hunger you usually see in bands that've been touring their whole lives. Their EP "What Remains Of Me" drops March 13th on M&O Music, and man, these guys aren't playing it safe.

Ok y a ce groupe de Lahti, Finlande, Bloodstained Halo, formé littéralement il y a six mois (juillet 2025, bref) mais ils balancent déjà avec la faim qu’on voit d’habitude chez des groupes qui tournent depuis toujours. Leur EP « What Remains Of Me » sort le 13 mars chez M&O Music, et mec, ces gars jouent pas safe.

The recipe here is straightforward : heavy riffs that actually land, melodic sensibilities that don't feel forced, and a rawness that reminds you why metalcore still matters when it's done right. Think Architects meets Sylosis meets that Motionless In White era when they were still genuinely dangerous. Lumi Eade and Toni Tiainen trade off vocals and guitar work with this locked-in precision, while Tuomas Mikkonen's drums hit like he's got something to prove (he does), and Jarkko Hämäläinen's bass... ok that bass work anchors everything without drowning in the mix.

La recette est simple : riffs lourds qui tombent juste, sensibilités mélodiques pas forcées, et une rawness qui rappelle pourquoi le metalcore compte encore quand c’est bien fait. Pense Architects croisé Sylosis croisé l’époque Motionless In White où ils étaient encore vraiment dangereux. Lumi Eade et Toni Tiainen alternent chant et guitare avec une précision soudée, Tuomas Mikkonen à la batterie tape comme s’il avait quelque chose à prouver (et il a), et la basse de Jarkko Hämäläinen ancre tout sans se noyer dans le mix.

The whole thing started on a Finnish music forum, muusikoiden.net, which is hilarious but also kinda beautiful, right? No industry connection, no manufactured vibe. Just four dudes saying "let's make something that hurts" and actually following through. Five tracks, and every one of them swings : "Death," "Save Me," "Lost," "Stabwound," "What Remains Of Me." The titles alone tell you this isn't pop-metal nonsense. There's weight here, emotional weight mixed with genuine heaviness. They're rooted in Finland's metal tradition (those guys know what they're doing) but they're not stuck in it either: influences range death metal to nu metal to modern metalcore, and somehow it all clicks. Only criticism? They're young, right. Sometimes the songwriting feels like it's learning as it goes, but honestly that rawness is part of the appeal. This isn't a polished product. It's a promise. It's a band that's going to get scary in two, three years if they keep this trajectory.

Tout a commencé sur un forum musical finlandais, muusikoiden.net, ce qui est hilarant mais aussi beau, non ? Pas de connexion industrie, pas de vibe fabriquée. Juste quatre mecs qui disent « on va faire un truc qui fait mal » et qui le font vraiment. Cinq titres, et chacun cogne : « Death », « Save Me », « Lost », « Stabwound », « What Remains Of Me ». Les titres seuls te disent que c’est pas du pop-metal à la con. Y a du poids émotionnel mélangé à du vrai lourd. Racines dans la tradition metal finlandaise (ces gars savent ce qu’ils font) mais pas coincés dedans : influences de death à nu metal à metalcore moderne, et ça clique. Seul reproche ? Ils sont jeunes. Parfois l’écriture sonne comme si ça apprenait en marchant, mais honnêtement cette rawness fait partie du charme. C’est pas un produit poli. C’est une promesse. Un groupe qui va devenir effrayant dans deux, trois ans s’ils gardent cette trajectoire.
