Amp screaming, room shaking, yeah this one caught me off guard.

Ampli hurlant, pièce tremblante, ouais celui-ci m’a pris au dépourvu.

Crymwav just dropped “Speak No Evil” and it hit while I wasn’t ready, coffee still warm, brain half fried. Hard rock, but not the polite kind. Grit under the nails. Old ghosts, new scars.

Crymwav vient de sortir "Speak No Evil" et ça a frappé alors que je n’étais pas prêt, café encore chaud, cerveau à moitié cramé. Du hard rock, mais pas du genre poli. De la crasse sous les ongles. De vieux fantômes, de nouvelles cicatrices.

You hear it fast, those riffs smell like Thin Lizzy, that punky bite straight from The Damned, and some weird spacey drift that totally screams Hawkwind. But it’s not cosplay rock. It’s retooled, bent, dragged into now. Still rough, still human. (ok that groove locks in hard…)

Vous l’entendez vite, ces riffs sentent le Thin Lizzy, cette morsure punky qui vient droit de The Damned, et une certaine dérive spatiale bizarre qui hurle totalement Hawkwind. Mais ce n’est pas du rock cosplay. C’est retravaillé, tordu, traîné dans le présent. Toujours rugueux, toujours humain. (ok ce groove bloque dur…)

There’s keys in there too, played by Roman Jugg (ex-The Damned), and it adds this nervous pulse, like something’s watching you blink. Which makes sense, because the whole track feels like a reaction song. Big tech, big brother, billionaires breathing down your neck. You don’t scream, you clench your jaw and crank the volume instead.

Il y a aussi des claviers, joués par Roman Jugg (ancien de The Damned), et ça ajoute ce pouls nerveux, comme si quelque chose surveillait vos clignements. Ce qui se tient, parce que tout le morceau semble être une chanson de réaction. Grande technologie, grand frère, milliardaires qui vous respirent dans le cou. Vous ne criez pas, vous serrez les mâchoires et montez le volume à la place.

Production’s tight without killing the dirt. Produced by the band, mixed by Hunter Crowley, mastered by Mark Cheliki: everything hits clean but still swings. No plastic shine, thank god. This is rock that knows where it comes from but doesn’t live in the past. (bref, this chorus sticks more than I expected)

La production est serrée sans tuer la crasse. Produit par le groupe, mixé par Hunter Crowley, masterisé par Mark Cheliki : tout frappe net mais balance encore. Pas de vernis plastique, heureusement. C’est un rock qui sait d’où il vient mais ne vit pas dans le passé. (bref, ce refrain reste plus que prévu)

Full album coming this summer. If it keeps this energy, I’m in.

Album complet à venir cet été. Si ça garde cette énergie, je suis dedans.

Not reinventing rock, nope. But reminding it why it mattered in the first place. And yeah, sometimes that’s enough.

Ne réinvente pas le rock, non. Mais rappelle pourquoi il comptait au départ. Et ouais, parfois c’est suffisant.

Spin it loud. Don’t overthink it.

Écoutez-le fort. Ne cherchez pas trop loin.
