Friday Dies just got off the "Protect Your Temple" tour. East Coast run. Now they're back with new material and it hits immediately. "I'd Rather Trust a Stranger", first single off the upcoming full-length "The Sky is the Ocean." Featuring vocalist Shay Hazlewood who brought something sharp and dangerous to the sound. Signature thrash ferocity with modern melodic twists, but not the kind that softens the blow. The kind that stretches tension before snapping it back harder.

    "I've been dying to get new material out there that really bridges where we came from and where we're going," the band said. And you can hear that intent. This isn't nostalgia worship. This is a band that knows their strengths and is pushing into new territory without abandoning what made them dangerous in the first place. Razor-sharp riffs. Relentless drive. Classic thrash energy meeting intricate songwriting.

This single's just confirmation. I went back to it twice before writing this. Not because I had to. Because it sticks. Cult status endures for a reason. This is why.
