HELSINKI AUGUST LINEUP JUST GOT DANGEROUS WITH PARADISE LOST, CARCASS, AND CRYPTOPSY
August 7-8. Helsinki Ice Hall. Hellsinki Metal Festival. Second wave of artists just announced and it's stacked. Paradise Lost joining after dropping their acclaimed "Ascension" album last year. Carcass, truly legendary and still razor sharp live. Cryptopsy, Canada's nearly 40-year force in technical death metal, rarely seen in Finland. Unleashed from Sweden, widely regarded as one of the most essential Scandinavian death metal bands of all time. Most geographically distant booking to date: Mawiza, performing in the endangered Mapuzungun language.
Previously announced: Black Label Society, Accept, Opeth, Misþyrming & Nergal performing Behemoth's Sventevith, Carpenter Brut, Triptykon performing Celtic Frost. That Triptykon set alone is worth the trip. Finland represented by Omnium Gatherum (30th anniversary) and Kalmah. Sanguisugabogg also on the bill. Upgraded festival area continues development this year with expanded craft brewery selection.

Ce set de Triptykon justifie à lui seul le voyage. La Finlande sera représentée par Omnium Gatherum pour leurs 30 ans et Kalmah. Sanguisugabogg complète le tableau. L'espace festival s'améliore encore cette année avec une sélection élargie de brasseries artisanales.
Festival drew 16,000 attendees over two days last year. VIP tickets sold out in advance. "The lineup features extremely carefully selected bands to ensure that every festivalgoer finds something for themselves," says promoter Toni Törrönen. Other additions: Assemble the Chariots, Cyan Kicks, Tungsten, Sepulchral Curse, Orly, Horizon Ignited, Misþyrming, VREID. Two-day tickets on sale now.
