LATE '80S UK THRASH LEGENDS BACK WITH A TORCH LIT AND READY TO BURN

Late 1980s. UK thrash scene. Toranaga were leading the pack alongside Sabbat, Onslaught, Xentrix. Two acclaimed albums, live shows with Manowar, Venom, Saxon. Should've risen to dizzying heights. Fate and misfortune intervened instead. Lengthy hiatus. Brief rebirth as The Bastard Son Of Toranaga in 2013, then dissolved again. 2024 brought a new lineup under the name Toranaga UK, led by indefatigable vocalist Mark Duffy. EP "A New Order" dropped 2025. Now they're starting 2026 with explosive new single "Crash And Burn." March 1st.

Fin des années 80. Scène thrash britannique. Toranaga menait la danse aux côtés de Sabbat, Onslaught et Xentrix. Deux albums acclamés, des concerts avec Manowar, Venom, Saxon. Ils auraient dû atteindre des sommets. Le destin et la malchance en ont décidé autrement. Longue pause. Brève renaissance en 2013 sous le nom The Bastard Son Of Toranaga, puis dissolution. 2024 a apporté un nouveau line-up sous le nom de Toranaga UK, mené par l'infatigable Mark Duffy au chant. L'EP « A New Order » est sorti en 2025. Ils attaquent 2026 avec le single explosif « Crash And Burn ». Sortie le 1er mars.

    Crisp, incisive riffing that cuts clean and stays locked in. Mark Duffy's vocals still carry that commanding edge, not forced, not nostalgic, just sharp. The track doesn’t rush to explode; it builds with control and then leans fully into its own weight. I almost dismissed this as nostalgia worship honestly. But "Crash And Burn" doesn't look back, it drives forward with force and intensity while staying rooted in tradition. That balance is harder than it sounds.
    Des riffs nets et incisifs qui tranchent propre et restent verrouillés. La voix de Mark Duffy conserve cette autorité naturelle, sans forcer, sans nostalgie, juste tranchante. Le morceau ne se précipite pas pour exploser ; il monte en puissance avec contrôle avant de peser de tout son poids. Honnêtement, j'ai failli balayer ça d'un revers de main comme du culte nostalgique. Mais « Crash And Burn » ne regarde pas en arrière, il fonce avec force et intensité tout en restant ancré dans la tradition. Cet équilibre est plus dur qu'il n'y paraît.
