PERUVIAN DEATH METAL WITH RITUALISTIC, SUFFOCATING HEAVINESS

I just spent the last forty minutes or so sitting in complete darkness with this record, and honestly... it feels like my ribcage is being compressed. This debut from Peru's Hell Trepanner, The Consecration of Eternal Impurity, isn't exactly a "pleasant" listen. It's out via Awakening Records and, to be blunt, it's got a heaviness that's just plain suffocating.

Je viens de passer les quarante dernières minutes assis dans l'obscurité complète avec ce disque, et honnêtement… j'ai l'impression que ma cage thoracique est comprimée. Ce premier album des Péruviens de Hell Trepanner, The Consecration of Eternal Impurity, n'est pas vraiment une écoute « agréable ». Il sort chez Awakening Records et, pour être franc, il a une lourdeur franchement suffocante.

These guys have been lurking in the southern districts of Lima since 2015, and you can tell they couldn't care less about "trends" or a polished studio sound. It's gritty, almost hostile. There's a point during "Blaspheming in Primordial Tongues" where the whammy bar abuse and the blast beats get so chaotic it doesn't even feel like a song anymore. It's just a physical assault, pure and simple.

Ces gars rôdent dans les quartiers sud de Lima depuis 2015, et on sent qu'ils se moquent totalement des « tendances » ou d'un son studio léché. C'est rugueux, presque hostile. Il y a un moment dans « Blaspheming in Primordial Tongues » où l'abus du whammy et les blast beats deviennent si chaotiques que ça ne ressemble même plus à une chanson. C'est juste une agression physique, pure et simple.

The production is incredibly dense, maybe a bit too much at times, it really lacks air, but for death metal that's trying to be ritualistic and occult, I guess it fits. We're far from some polite technical performance here; it's closer to a ceremony gone wrong in a damp basement. Even the oil-on-canvas cover art has that grimy feel that stays on your fingers. If you know anything about the Peruvian underground, you know they don't mess around with volume and pressure. It's dark, it's ugly, and that's exactly why it works. La production est incroyablement dense, peut-être même un peu trop par moments, elle manque vraiment d'air, mais pour du death metal qui se veut rituel et occulte, je suppose que ça colle. On est loin d'une performance technique policée ici ; c'est plutôt une cérémonie ratée dans un sous‑sol humide. Même la pochette à l'huile sur toile a cette saleté qui reste sur les doigts. Si vous connaissez un peu l'underground péruvien, vous savez qu'ils ne rigolent pas avec le volume et la pression. C'est sombre, c'est moche, et c'est exactement pour ça que ça fonctionne.
