I was just about to pack it in for the week when I saw a notification for the Katharein video. I'll be honest, I've been following these guys since their Lucky Shots album dropped in late '24, and seeing them still pushing this hard in 2026 makes me realize that the Romanian scene is officially done playing second fiddle to anyone.

J'allais ranger pour la semaine quand j'ai vu une notification pour la vidéo de Katharein. Je vais être honnête, je suis ces gars depuis leur album Lucky Shots fin 2024, et les voir encore pousser aussi fort en 2026 me fait réaliser que la scène roumaine a officiellement fini de jouer les seconds rôles.

I just finished watching the clip for "Signs of Warning," and man, it's exactly what I needed to wake up. There's no over-produced fluff here. It's just pure, unapologetic Heavy Metal. If you grew up on a steady diet of Iron Maiden or Judas Priest, you're going to feel right at home with the twin-guitar attack Silviu S. and Skozy are laying down.

Je viens de finir de regarder le clip de « Signs of Warning », et putain, c'est exactement ce qu'il me fallait pour me réveiller. Pas de fioritures surproduites ici. C'est juste du Heavy Metal pur et sans complexe. Si t'as grandi avec une dose régulière d'Iron Maiden ou Judas Priest, tu vas te sentir comme à la maison avec l'attaque des deux guitares de Silviu S. et Skozy.

What's interesting is that while the song is from the last album, the band isn't just resting on their laurels. They've recently dropped three new tracks, "Let Us Touch the Sky," "Madman's Gun," and "The Last of the Worlds", and it's clear they're evolving. They've got a new rhythm section now with Nick on drums and Zozo on bass, and you can tell the energy has shifted. It feels a bit more "freight train" and a little less "garage," if that makes sense.

Ce qui est intéressant, c'est que même si le morceau vient du dernier album, le groupe ne se repose pas sur ses lauriers. Ils viennent de sortir trois nouveaux titres, « Let Us Touch the Sky », « Madman's Gun » et « The Last of the Worlds », et on sent qu'ils évoluent. Ils ont une nouvelle section rythmique maintenant avec Nick à la batterie et Zozo à la basse, et on sent que l'énergie a changé. Ça fait un peu plus « train de marchandises » et un peu moins « garage », si tu vois ce que je veux dire.

I did have a moment during the solo where I wondered if the mix was a bit too vocal-heavy, but then Silviu hits one of those command-attention notes and you realize... yeah, that's the point. It's old-school. It's loud. It's the kind of music that earned them slots sharing the stage with legends like Geoff Tate and Udo last year. J'ai eu un moment pendant le solo où je me suis demandé si le mix n'était pas un peu trop centré sur la voix, mais là Silviu frappe une de ces notes qui imposent l'attention et tu réalises… ouais, c'est le but. C'est old-school. C'est fort. C'est le genre de musique qui leur a valu de partager la scène avec des légendes comme Geoff Tate et Udo l'année dernière.

I catch myself thinking about how much work goes into a band like this: forming in '22, hitting 100k streams, and just relentlessly touring. It's not "easy" metal; it's the kind of stuff that only works if the guys playing it actually mean it. And based on the grit in this new video, Katharein definitely means business.

Je me surprends à penser à tout le travail que ça demande pour un groupe comme ça : se former en 2022, atteindre 100k streams, et tourner sans relâche. Ce n'est pas du metal « facile » ; c'est le genre de truc qui ne fonctionne que si les mecs qui le jouent le pensent vraiment. Et au vu du cran dans cette nouvelle vidéo, Katharein est clairement là pour de bon.
