Forget the standard "morning listening" intro: let's get straight to the grit. Imagine four Norwegians from Bergen ditching their rain-soaked streets to lock themselves in a studio in Dripping Springs, right in the heart of Texas. The result is "Riffy," and it's more than just a Stoner track; it's a travelogue etched in fuzz. This single sets the stage for their second album, Let The Spiders In, dropping on April 10th.

Imaginez quatre Norvégiens de Bergen qui quittent leurs rues trempées pour s'enfermer dans un studio à Dripping Springs, au cœur du Texas. Le résultat s'appelle « Riffy », et c'est plus qu'un simple morceau Stoner : c'est un récit de voyage gravé dans le fuzz. Ce single pose les bases de leur deuxième album, Let The Spiders In, qui sort le 10 avril.

What makes this track stand out is its lineage. It belongs to that rare category of songs written on the fly, where the surroundings dictate the riffs. Much like Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" documented a casino fire, Masheena poured their entire Texas odyssey into "Riffy": late-night talks with a landlord who grew up with Roky Erickson, tattoo sessions at Rock of Ages, and even a surreal encounter with King Crimson's drummer over smoked meat and cold beers.

Tarjei, the bass player (known as "El Profesor"), has been obsessed with Austin since 2012, and you can hear it. The band skipped the tourist traps to find the city's soul in dives like the Continental Club. "Riffy" is their love letter to an authentic Texas that's still breathing beneath the glass towers of big tech. It's greasy, it's bluesy, and it smells like road dust. Tarjei, le bassiste (surnommé « El Profesor »), est obsédé par Austin depuis 2012, et ça s'entend. The quartet isn't staying still for long; they have a UK tour booked for the end of April, and the rest of 2026 is looking just as packed.
