Honestly, I've just been sitting here in the fading light of the afternoon, and my chest feels like someone parked a truck on it. That new Steamgenerator track, "Hopeless Romantic," is just… it's ridiculously heavy. I'm not talking about "studio-clean" heavy, but that kind of raw, suffocating Doom that makes you feel like the air in the room just got ten times thicker.

Honnêtement, je suis resté là dans la lumière déclinante de l'après-midi, et j'ai l'impression qu'on m'a garé un camion sur la poitrine. Ce nouveau morceau de Steamgenerator, « Hopeless Romantic », est juste… ridiculement lourd. Je ne parle pas de lourdeur « studio‑propre », mais de cette sorte de Doom brut et suffocant qui donne l'impression que l'air dans la pièce est devenu dix fois plus épais.

These guys from Wolfsburg aren't trying to win any awards for "perfection," and they're pretty open about it. It's all about the "transmission." You can tell Marcus and Christian have been doing this since the early 90s because the riffs don't just sound like Black Sabbath or Trouble ; they feel like they've been dragged through the same dirt.

Ces gars de Wolfsburg ne cherchent pas à gagner des prix de « perfection », et ils le disent franchement. Tout est dans la « transmission ». On sent que Marcus et Christian font ça depuis le début des années 90 parce que les riffs ne sonnent pas seulement comme Black Sabbath ou Trouble ; ils semblent avoir été traînés dans la même boue.

Somewhere in the middle of the title track, the whole thing just… uh… it slows down into this massive, crawling void. I actually had to clear my throat while listening, like I was the one getting stuck in the mix. It's got this apocalyptic, "Plutonium Mega Generator" vibe that's just bleak. If you're into that Cathedral or Count Raven style where the groove feels like a physical weight, this is going to wreck you.

Quelque part au milieu du morceau-titre, tout… euh… ralentit pour devenir ce vide immense et rampant. J'ai dû m'éclaircir la gorge en écoutant, comme si c'était moi qui restait coincé dans le mix. C'est cette ambiance apocalyptique, « Plutonium Mega Generator », d'une noirceur totale. Si vous aimez le style de Cathedral ou Count Raven, où le groove est un poids physique, ça va vous anéantir.

The full album drops March 25th on Metalloscope Music, and they've even thrown in the remastered Black As Coal tracks as a bonus. It's a lot to digest in one sitting, but if you need something that sounds like a steel forge collapsing in slow motion, this is it.
