Five years. Five. Fucking. Years. That’s how long we waited since Torch Of Rock And Roll, the album that swept Songwriter, Album, and Band of the Year at the 2023 International Singer-Songwriter Awards, with Billboard Argentina even nodding at the power ballad "Kickin’ Stones". Then? Silence.
Cinq ans. Cinq. P*tain. D’années. Voilà le temps qu’on a attendu depuis Torch Of Rock And Roll, l’album qui a raflé les prix de l’auteur-compositeur, de l’album et du groupe de l’année aux International Singer-Songwriter Awards 2023, avec même un clin d’œil de Billboard Argentina pour la ballade puissante « Kickin’ Stones ». Et après ? Le silence.
Now, The Mighty One is back with "Shattered", and holy hell, this isn’t just a comeback, it’s a declaration of war. Against AI overlords. Against societal breakdowns. Against the whole corporate media circus. And here’s the thing: at first, I rolled my eyes. "Oh great, another ‘wake up, sheeple’ anthem." But then the second chorus hit, and suddenly, it wasn’t just loud, it was necessary.
Aujourd’hui, The Mighty One revient avec « Shattered », et bordel, ce n’est pas juste un retour, c’est une déclaration de guerre. Contre les seigneurs de l’IA. Contre la déliquescence de la société. Contre tout le cirque des médias corporate. Et voilà le truc : au début, j’ai levé les yeux au ciel. « Oh super, un énième hymne ‘réveillez-vous, moutons’. » Mais ensuite le second refrain a frappé, et soudain, ce n’était plus seulement bruyant, c’était nécessaire.
Frontman Tim Steinruck (the band’s architect since 2007) doesn’t just sing: he roars lines like a man possessed:
"Live like we never will die / Live like we’re kings of the sky"
And that hook? "Old rules are shattered / Now all that matters is right here, and now."
That’s not a chorus. That’s a fucking battle cry.
Riffs that don’t just play: they demand you move.
Vocals that aren’t just sung: they’re exhaled from the gut.
A production (handled by Steinruck himself, mixed/mastered by Dave Padden of Annihilator) that’s raw enough to bleed, tight enough to cut.
The Video? Raw pre-tour rehearsals spliced with explosive live footage from their sold-out Bogotá show (supporting Spanish metal gods Obús). Directed by Sekfilms, it’s not just a clip: it’s a visual uprising. Your spine twitches when the bridge kicks in. Your fist clenches when the chorus hits. Le frontman Tim Steinruck (l’architecte du groupe depuis 2007) ne chante pas : il rugit des lignes comme un possédé :

Et ce refrain ? « Old rules are shattered / Now all that matters is right here, and now. »
Ce n’est pas un refrain. C’est un putain de cri de guerre.
Des riffs qui ne jouent pas : ils exigent que tu bouges.
Des voix qui ne sont pas chantées : elles sont exhalées des tripes.
Une production (assurée par Steinruck lui-même, mixée/masterisée par Dave Padden d’Annihilator) assez crue pour saigner, assez serrée pour trancher.
La vidéo ? Des répétitions brutes avant tournée entrelacées avec des images explosives de leur concert à guichets fermés à Bogotá (en première partie des dieux du metal espagnol Obús). Réalisée par Sekfilms, ce n’est pas juste un clip : c’est un soulèvement visuel. La colonne vertébrale frémit quand le pont débarque. Le poing se serre quand le refrain frappe.
THE BAND: NOT JUST A NAME, A TRAJECTORY
This isn’t some flash-in-the-pan act. Steinruck’s been at this since 2007, with a resume that includes:
- Working with KISS’ Paul Stanley early on.
- Collaborating with Devin Townsend on their debut.
- Scoring a Top 10 radio hit ("Reprieved") mixed by AC/DC producer Mike Fraser (with syncs on NHL, NASCAR, MTV).
- Dominating Colombian airwaves in 2017 with the Spanish version "Absuelto".
- Signing with German label S.A.O.L./CMM for Torch Of Rock And Roll.
And oh yeah, he’s a life coach and mental health advocate who gave a suicide prevention talk to 350 faculty at University of Quindío during the last tour. So when he sings about shattering illusions, he’s not just performing: he’s living it.

Ce n’est pas un feu de paille. Steinruck est dans le game depuis 2007, avec un CV qui inclut :
