Texas doesn't do "subtle" when it comes to rock, and Awaiting Abigail is no exception. This Dallas-based six-piece hasn't been around long, but they've already managed to kick up a serious amount of dust, even landing a spot at the legendary Whisky A Go Go with L.A. Guns just months after forming.

Ce sextuor de Dallas n'existe pas depuis longtemps, mais ils ont déjà réussi à soulever pas mal de poussière, décrochant même une place au légendaire Whisky A Go Go avec L.A. Guns quelques mois seulement après leur formation.

Their debut EP, "Bad Mind," is modern hard rock with some serious muscle. Everything here leans on Abigail Hill's vocals; she has that gritty, powerhouse delivery, reminiscent of Lzzy Hale, that can pivot from a whisper to a roar without breaking a sweat. The riffs are thick and the grooves are heavy, but what actually sticks is the honesty. They aren't writing about party anthems; they're digging into mental strain and the messiness of pushing forward when things go sideways.

Leur premier EP, « Bad Mind », est du hard rock moderne avec des muscles sérieux. Tout repose sur la voix d'Abigail Hill ; elle a cette prestation puissante et granuleuse, qui rappelle Lzzy Hale, capable de passer d'un murmure à un rugissement sans effort. Les riffs sont épais et les grooves lourds, mais ce qui reste, c'est l'honnêteté. Ils n'écrivent pas des hymnes de fête ; ils creusent la tension mentale et le chaos de continuer à avancer quand les choses tournent mal.

The press (Decibel, Power Play) is starting to catch on, and it's easy to see why once you hear a track like "I Hate You." It's polished enough for radio, sure, but it keeps enough of that Texas dirt under its fingernails to feel authentic.

What sticks with me is the sheer urgency. This isn't a band waiting for permission to exist; they sound like they're trying to tear the door off the hinges. The production on the EP is massive, maybe even a little too clean for the purists, but Abigail's vocal magnetics pull it all together. Ce qui me reste, c'est l'urgence pure. Ce n'est pas un groupe qui attend la permission d'exister ; ils ont l'air de vouloir arracher la porte de ses gonds. La production de l'EP est massive, peut-être même un peu trop propre pour les puristes, mais le magnétisme vocal d'Abigail maintient tout ensemble.
