You ever record something that sounds like a total riot and then just... stick it in a vault? That's essentially what happened with Benevolence. They laid down this heavy-as-hell material back in 2022 with some absolute monsters in the Dallas scene, and then... nothing. It just sat there.

Ils ont enregistré ce matériel lourd comme l'enfer en 2022 avec des monstres absolus de la scène de Dallas, et puis… rien. Ça est resté là.

That's a waste, and the band clearly knew it. Instead of letting those tracks die on some dusty studio hard drive, they grabbed a new lineup: Brent Wells, Cameron Murrell, Alex Brannan, and Chris Corley, and essentially forced the material back to life.

And honestly? I'm glad they did.

I just spun "Face of a Liar," and it sounds like a band finally letting out a breath they've been holding for three years. There's no fancy symphonic fluff or over-produced studio trickery here. It's just pure, aggressive, "we're going to kick this door down" energy. It's tight, it's angry, and it's got that raw, lived-in feel that most modern metal is missing because they spend too much time staring at a screen and not enough time sweating in a room together.

Je viens d'écouter « Face of a Liar », et ça sonne comme un groupe qui expire enfin l'air qu'il retenait depuis trois ans. Pas de fioritures symphoniques fantaisistes ni d'astuces studio surproduites ici. C'est juste de l'énergie pure, agressive, « on va défoncer cette porte ». C'est serré, c'est en colère, et ça a ce côté brut et vécu qui manque à la plupart des metal modernes parce qu'ils passent trop de temps à regarder un écran et pas assez à transpirer ensemble dans une pièce.

They've signed with Rottweiler Records now, so this isn't just a one-off thing: they're finally going to put this stuff out properly. It's kind of a middle finger to the industry that might have dismissed these tracks as "old material."

Ils ont signé avec Rottweiler Records maintenant, donc ce n'est pas juste un coup d'épée dans l'eau : ils vont enfin sortir ce truc correctement. C'est un doigt d'honneur à l'industrie qui aurait pu rejeter ces morceaux comme « vieux matériel ».
