If you haven't been keeping tabs on the Athenian metal scene lately, Desert Near The End is the wake-up call you need. They put out a new video for "Half-Learned and Long Forgotten" from their latest album Tides of Time, and it's exactly the kind of high-octane, genre-bending madness I love.

These guys have a really unique way of blending the anthemic energy of Power Metal with the sheer aggression of Thrash and Death Metal. "Half-Learned and Long Forgotten" is a perfect example: it's got those soaring melodies that get stuck in your head, but it's backed by a ferocity that feels like a punch to the gut. The lyrics dig into some pretty heavy territory too, dealing with legacy, fading truths, and the struggle to find meaning in a world that seems to be falling apart.

It feels less like a standard music video and more like a visual statement on historical decay. Everything from Akis Prasinikas's songwriting to Alexandros Papandreou's lyrics is tight and focused, and the production by Vasilis Pappas at Incorporated M. Studios makes the whole thing sound massive.

Elle ressemble moins à un clip standard qu'à une déclaration visuelle sur le déclin historique. It's dark, it's fast, and it's got a lot of heart. If you want metal that actually has something to say while it's melting your face, give this one a spin. C'est sombre, rapide, et ça a du cœur. I've been spinning "Half-Learned and Long Forgotten" on repeat, and I love how it draws you in softly at first. It starts out almost gentle, but then that power just starts building and building until it drags you into something much more intense. By the time that final riff hits, it absolutely levels the place. It's got that raw, Athenian grit that you just can't replicate anywhere else. \m/
J'ai écouté « Half-Learned and Long Forgotten » en boucle, et j'adore la façon dont il vous attire doucement au début. Ça commence presque en douceur, puis la puissance monte, monte, jusqu'à vous entraîner dans quelque chose de bien plus intense. Quand le riff final frappe, ça pulvérise tout. Il y a ce grain athénien brut qu'on ne trouve nulle part ailleurs. \m/
