Stop expecting "polite" symphonic metal. If you want orchestral arrangements just to make things look pretty, go to the opera. But if you want to hear what happens when a belief system implodes in real-time, put on False Messiah's new single, "Shadows of Faith."

They aren't playing at being "elegant." They use the orchestra like a battering ram. It's gothic-thrash, it's raw, it's heavy, and above all, it's genuinely uncomfortable. There is nothing radio-friendly about this. It's the sound of a psychological collapse, and frankly, it feels damn good to step away from the over-produced metal that's just trying to please everyone.
Ils ne jouent pas à être « élégants ». Ils utilisent l'orchestre comme un bélier. C'est du gothic-thrash, c'est brut, lourd, et surtout, c'est vraiment inconfortable. Rien de radiophonique là‑dedans. C'est le son d'un effondrement psychologique, et franchement, ça fait un bien fou de s'éloigner du metal surproduit qui cherche à plaire à tout le monde.
You can tell they're building something bigger than just a discography here. This follows Iron Sky and Rise of the Seven, and it's all leading to their album Seven (dropping June 19). If the rest of the record hits this hard, we aren't just listening to songs: we're about to get hit by a freight train.
On sent qu'ils construisent quelque chose de plus grand qu'une simple discographie. Ce single fait suite à Iron Sky et Rise of the Seven, et cela mène à leur album Seven (sortie le 19 juin). Si le reste du disque frappe aussi fort, on n'écoute pas seulement des chansons : on va se faire percuter par un train de marchandises.
It's visceral. It's human, with all the ugly, fascinating mess that comes with it. If you want "safe," look elsewhere. If you want to feel the ground shake, crank the volume and let the walls come down.
C'est viscéral. C'est humain, avec tout le désordre moche et fascinant que cela implique. Si vous voulez du « safe », allez voir ailleurs. Si vous voulez sentir le sol trembler, montez le volume et laissez les murs s'écrouler.
