It is remarkably easy to find "Thrash" bands these days; it is much harder to find ones that actually understand why the genre has endured for decades. Montpellier-based HERESY has been navigating this path for over 15 years, and they aren't interested in being a cover act. They take the DNA of the legendary Bay Area scene, think that classic Metallica and Megadeth edge, and they inject it with a modern, no-compromise attitude that feels fresh rather than recycled.

What actually makes me respect these guys isn't just the riffs. In a world where bands often hide behind press releases, HERESY took a different route. Since November 2024, they've been running their own Twitch talk show, Streaming For Vengeance. They literally opened their studio doors and invited the fans to watch the composition process for this new album in real-time. That's not just "fan engagement"; that's honesty.

They've also clearly leveled up their production game. For this album (April 17, 2026), they've brought in Bruno VAREA, who has worked with heavy hitters like Dagoba and Lenny Kravitz, to handle the production, and Guillaume POITEL for the visuals. When you see names like that attached to an underground Thrash band, it tells you everything you need to know: they aren't cutting corners, and they want this sound to hit hard.
