GALLOWS EP – METAL LOURD VENU DE DONCASTER

I've had "Watching The Walls" on loop and it's honestly a bit much. It's that specific brand of Doncaster heavy: thick, humid, and loud enough to make your teeth ache. There's no "artistic" build-up. Circle Of Origin just throws a heavy, rusted slab of sound at your head and doesn't bother to apologize when it hits. Wordsworth and Williamson aren't playing for the back row; they're building this suffocating cage of riffs that keeps you pinned while Danny Porter's vocals start tearing at the drywall.

J'ai écouté « Watching The Walls » en boucle, et honnêtement, c'est un peu trop. C'est ce style lourd spécifique à Doncaster : épais, humide, et assez fort pour vous faire mal aux dents. Pas de montée « artistique ». Circle Of Origin balance juste une lourde plaque de son rouillé à la tête et ne prend pas la peine de s'excuser quand ça frappe. Wordsworth et Williamson ne jouent pas pour le fond de la salle ; ils construisent cette cage de riffs suffocante qui vous maintient cloué pendant que la voix de Danny Porter se met à déchirer les cloisons sèches.

The whole thing is a mess of emotional collapse. Not the pretty, radio-friendly kind, but the "staring at a grey ceiling until you lose your mind" kind. They went back to Axis Studios with Matt Elliss and clearly decided to strip out any remaining politeness. It's got that Stone Sour muscle, sure, but it feels more like a shove in a dark hallway than a stadium anthem. The new guy, Heaver, brings a bass tone that feels like a physical headache, in a good way.

L'ensemble est un gâchis d'effondrement émotionnel. Pas le genre joli et radiophonique, mais celui où l'on fixe un plafond gris jusqu'à en perdre la tête. Ils sont retournés aux Axis Studios avec Matt Elliss et ont clairement décidé de virer toute politesse restante. Il y a ce muscle de Stone Sour, certes, mais ça ressemble plus à une poussée dans un couloir sombre qu'à un hymne de stade. Le nouveau, Heaver, apporte un son de basse qui donne l'impression d'un mal de tête physique, dans le bon sens.

It's a grim watch, but it fits. Give it a spin before the full thing drops and see if you can handle the claustrophobia.
