Man, I was just thinking about their debut the other day and now this drops. Legacies of Cybernetica coming in July. Honestly, the best part about this band is that they actually play live instead of just hiding in a bedroom studio, so if they say this new stuff is getting more technical and experimental, I actually believe them.
Mec, je pensais justement à leurs débuts l'autre jour et voilà que ça tombe. Legacies of Cybernetica arrive en juillet. Honnêtement, le meilleur de ce groupe, c'est qu'ils jouent vraiment en concert au lieu de se cacher dans un home studio, donc s'ils disent que ce nouveau truc est plus technique et expérimental, j'ai tendance à les croire.
The description says it's swinging between chaos and control, which sounds exhausting but in a good way? Hopefully they don't overdo the "progressive extremes" part though, because sometimes bands get too smart for their own good and forget how to just rip. But they're promising no polish for polish's sake, so that's a relief. Just need those sharp riffs and high velocity drumming to hit right.
La description dit que ça balance entre chaos et contrôle, ce qui semble épuisant mais dans le bon sens ? J'espère qu'ils n'en feront pas trop sur les « extrêmes progressifs », parce que parfois les groupes deviennent trop intelligents pour leur propre bien et oublient comment simplement déchirer. Mais ils promettent pas de polish pour le polish, donc c'est rassurant. Il faut juste que ces riffs tranchants et la batterie rapide frappent là où il faut.
I'm slightly annoyed the vinyl is on a label but they're doing the CD and tape independently on the same day, feels like I'll have to open three different tabs just to figure out what version to pre-order right now. July 3rd isn't that far off I guess. If it really has that "forward motion" they keep talking about, it should be killer. We'll see.
Je suis un peu agacé que le vinyle soit sur un label alors qu'ils sortent le CD et la cassette en indépendant le même jour, j'ai l'impression que je vais devoir ouvrir trois onglets différents juste pour comprendre quelle version précommander. Le 3 juillet, c'est bientôt. Si ça a vraiment ce « mouvement vers l'avant » dont ils parlent, ça devrait être tueur. On verra.
