Honestly, I'm just staring at this quote from the band about their new album Syvyyden portit on saatava auki. They literally called it the most "warm-hearted" and yet "violent" and "darkest" thing they've done. What does a warm-hearted melodic death/black metal album even sound like? It makes absolutely no sense, but then they immediately admit the album is "illogical and consistent" so at least they're self-aware about the megalomania. I kind of love how unhinged that sounds.
Honnêtement, je suis en train de fixer cette citation du groupe à propos de leur nouvel album Syvyyden portit on saatava auki. Ils l'ont littéralement qualifié de truc le plus « chaleureux » et en même temps le plus « violent » et « sombre » qu'ils aient fait. À quoi ressemble même un album de melodic death/black metal « chaleureux » ? Ça n'a absolument aucun sens, mais ils admettent aussitôt que l'album est « illogique et cohérent », donc au moins ils ont conscience de leur mégalomanie. J'aime plutôt ce côté complètement dingue.
They're talking about shedding blood, sweat, and tears, and "call bells ringing" while the unknown was guiding them. It's a lot. But Tore Stjerna handled the mix and master at Necromorbus, so regardless of whatever "apocalyptic-spiritual" madness they were feeling in the studio, you know the actual sound is going to be massive and heavy as hell.
Ils parlent de verser sang, sueur et larmes, et de « sonnettes d'appel » qui sonnent tandis que l'inconnu les guidait. C'est beaucoup. Mais Tore Stjerna s'est occupé du mix et du mastering à Necromorbus, donc quelle que soit la folie « apocalyptico-spirituelle » qu'ils ressentaient en studio, on sait que le son réel va être massif et lourd comme l'enfer.
I haven't even fully digested the tracklist yet but apparently their sound has been mutating from old HC punk into this weirdly complex, black metal-infused thing anyway. If it actually balances the chaos and the melody like they claim, it could be incredible, or just a total mess. I need to go stream this right now just to see what a "warm-hearted" apocalypse sounds like.
Je n'ai même pas encore digéré la tracklist, mais apparemment leur son a muté du vieux HC punk vers ce truc étrangement complexe et imprégné de black metal. Si ça équilibre vraiment le chaos et la mélodie comme ils le prétendent, ça pourrait être incroyable, ou juste un désastre total. Je dois aller écouter ça tout de suite pour voir à quoi ressemble une apocalypse « chaleureuse ».
