POLISH EXTREME METAL VETERANS RETURN WITH THEIR SIXTH FULL‑LENGTH OF RELENTLESS DARKNESS
Polish extreme metal veterans Neolith have been sharpening their blade since the early '90s, and their sixth full‑length INBIR, Sumerian for "war", feels like a total steamroller from the second it starts. There's no long wind‑up or atmospheric hesitation here; it's an absolute wall of dark death/black metal that crushes everything in its path.
Les vétérans polonais du metal extrême Neolith aiguisent leur lame depuis le début des années 90, et leur sixième album INBIR, qui signifie « guerre » en sumérien, donne l'impression d'un rouleau compresseur dès la seconde où il commence. Pas de longue montée ou d'hésitation atmosphérique ici : c'est un mur absolu de death/black metal sombre qui écrase tout sur son passage.

What really sells the album is how much weight those riffs carry. For something this fast, the album never feels thin. The riffing hits with a heavy, old‑school thrash grit, while the multi‑vocal attack delivery from Zi'aR, Kriss, and Levi gives the whole tracklist a sinister, relentless drive. Haldor Grunberg's mix (Satanic Audio) strikes that ideal balance: massive, thick low‑end without drowning out the sharp guitar work. By the time "Morte" faded out, I wasn't exhausted because the album is fast. I was exhausted because Neolith never really gives you a chance to breathe.
Ce qui vend vraiment l'album, c'est le poids que portent ces riffs. Pour quelque chose d'aussi rapide, l'album ne semble jamais mince. Le riffing frappe avec un grain thrash old‑school lourd, tandis que l'attaque multi‑vocale de Zi'aR, Kriss et Levi donne à toute la tracklist une énergie sinistre et implacable. Le mix de Haldor Grunberg (Satanic Audio) trouve l'équilibre idéal : des basses massives et épaisses sans noyer le travail de guitare tranchant. Quand « Morte » s'est éteint, je n'étais pas épuisé parce que l'album est rapide. J'étais épuisé parce que Neolith ne vous laisse jamais vraiment le temps de respirer.
