With their new full‑length New Metal Breed, the Besançon crew didn't just tweak their sound: they went all‑in on a raw, steel‑plated Heavy/Speed metal assault.

Avec leur nouvel album New Metal Breed, l'équipe de Besançon n'a pas simplement ajusté son son : ils se sont lancés à fond dans un assaut heavy/speed metal brut et plaqué d'acier.

The intro "Rise Of The Machines" sets that classic 80s Terminator mood before the title track emerges with pure German‑style speed riffs. Right away, you notice Thierry Marquez's vocals: that rough, raspy bite that sounds closer to Chris Boltendahl than a polished power metal frontman.

Tout de suite, on remarque la voix de Thierry Marquez : ce grain rugueux et rauque qui sonne plus proche de Chris Boltendahl que d'un chanteur de power metal poli.
What I love about New Metal Breed is how unapologetically comfortable the band is with their roots. Whether they're dropping a cinematic spoken intro before charging into the instrumental assault of 'Hail To The King', slowing things down for a heavy seventies doom vibe on 'Evil Queen', or firing off a cover of Judas Priest's 'Riding in the Wind', nothing feels calculated. It just feels like four guys in a room playing the exact type of metal they live and breathe. You can practically smell the leather jackets and warm amplifiers coming off the speakers. By the time the final assault of "Made In Hell / The Last Stand" loops back into the opening theme, I almost expected the credits of an old VHS tape to start rolling. New Metal Breed isn't here to reinvent anything: it's just a loud, heavy, and immensely fun record played with total conviction.
Ce que j'aime dans New Metal Breed, c'est à quel point le groupe est à l'aise avec ses racines, sans aucune excuse. Qu'ils ajoutent une introduction parlée cinématographique avant de se lancer dans l'assaut instrumental de « Hail To The King », qu'ils ralentissent le rythme pour une vibe doom heavy des années 70 sur « Evil Queen », ou qu'ils enchaînent avec une reprise de « Riding in the Wind » de Judas Priest, rien ne semble calculé. On a l'impression de quatre gars dans une pièce qui jouent le metal qu'ils vivent et respirent. On sent presque les vestes en cuir et les amplis chauds sortir des enceintes. Quand l'assaut final de « Made In Hell / The Last Stand » boucle sur le thème d'ouverture, je m'attendais presque à voir le générique d'une vieille cassette VHS défiler. New Metal Breed n'est pas là pour réinventer quoi que ce soit : c'est juste un album bruyant, lourd et immensément amusant, joué avec une conviction totale.
