New Release: Caelestia - "Revelations In Black"
GREEK EXTREME METAL UNIT STRIPS BACK THE SYMPHONICS FOR A LEANER, LETHAL IDENTITY
If you remembered Caelestia for their earlier symphonic roots, their new full‑length Revelations In Black will strip those memories right away. The symphonic dressing has almost disappeared, replaced by sharp riffs and a much more direct, guitar‑driven approach. There's still a melodic Swedish touch in the songwriting, but the overall impact feels far more American in its raw aggression.

I was expecting a lot of dense atmospheric layers, but instead, the band lets the dual‑guitar attack of Bill Thomas and Andrew Geo do the heavy lifting. The production by Zack Ohren is incredibly tight: once Marc Reign (ex‑Destruction, ex‑Morgoth) locks in the rhythm section, every single riff lands exactly where it should. It didn't take long before the mood felt almost suffocating. Pantelis "Lordwinter" Daskalelos' vocals don't just sit on top of the instrumentation: they sound like they're dragging the whole track further into the dark. By the time "Wolves" finishes, one thing becomes obvious: Caelestia aren't playing around, and they've embraced a much leaner, far more lethal identity.
Je m'attendais à beaucoup de couches atmosphériques denses, mais à la place, le groupe laisse l'attaque à deux guitares de Bill Thomas et Andrew Geo faire le gros du travail. La production de Zack Ohren est incroyablement serrée : une fois que Marc Reign (ex‑Destruction, ex‑Morgoth) verrouille la section rythmique, chaque riff tombe exactement là où il doit. Il n'a pas fallu longtemps pour que l'ambiance devienne presque suffocante. Les voix de Pantelis « Lordwinter » Daskalelos ne se contentent pas de reposer sur l'instrumentation : elles semblent entraîner tout le morceau plus profondément dans l'obscurité. Quand « Wolves » se termine, une chose devient évidente : Caelestia ne plaisante pas, et ils ont adopté une identité bien plus épurée et bien plus létale.
