FRENCH‑AMERICAN HARDCORE DUO DELIVERS STRAIGHTFORWARD, AGGRESSIVE METAL HARDCORE
Formed in 2025 by vocalist Saya and guitarist/producer Shredder, French‑American duo Sworn to Avenge comes into the hardcore scene with a straightforward, aggressive approach. Their debut single "Resistance", ahead of their full‑length Defy The Fate, doesn't waste time with elaborate intros or unnecessary polish; it gets straight to the point. I wasn't expecting "Resistance" to be quite this stripped down. There's no real attempt to dress it up or hide behind heavy studio tricks, and honestly, that works in its favor. Built around driving, thick riffs and relentless vocal snarls, the track relies on raw momentum. Saya's screams give the dystopian lyrics an aggressive bite, while Shredder's production keeps the guitars heavy without turning the sound into a sterile wall of noise.
Formé en 2025 par la chanteuse Saya et le guitariste/producteur Shredder, le duo franco‑américain Sworn to Avenge arrive dans la scène hardcore avec une approche directe et agressive. Leur premier single « Resistance », en avance sur leur album Defy The Fate, ne perd pas de temps avec des intros élaborées ou un polissage inutile ; il va droit au but. Je ne m'attendais pas à ce que « Resistance » soit aussi dépouillé. Il n'y a pas de véritable tentative de l'habiller ou de se cacher derrière des astuces de studio, et honnêtement, cela joue en sa faveur. Construit autour de riffs épais et entraînants et de grognements vocaux implacables, le morceau repose sur un élan brut. Les hurlements de Saya donnent aux paroles dystopiques une morsure agressive, tandis que la production de Shredder garde les guitares lourdes sans transformer le son en un mur de bruit stérile.

Hardcore duos can sometimes struggle to maintain a massive sonic presence without feeling empty in the low end, but the rhythmic drive here leaves plenty of room for moshpit‑ready breakdowns. If "Resistance" is any indication, I can already imagine this track working much better in a packed, sweaty room than through a pair of headphones.
Les duos hardcore peuvent parfois avoir du mal à maintenir une présence sonore massive sans sembler vides dans les graves, mais l'élan rythmique ici laisse beaucoup de place pour des breakdowns prêts pour le moshpit. Si « Resistance » est une indication, je peux déjà imaginer ce morceau fonctionner bien mieux dans une salle pleine et moite qu'à travers une paire d'écouteurs.
