GEORGIA‑BASED GOTHIC/ALTERNATIVE METAL UNIT RETURNS WITH A HEAVY, PISSED‑OFF NEW SINGLE
After relocating from Russia to Georgia, The End of Melancholy are back with a new single, "Halo". The track mixes dark gothic atmospheres with heavy modern alternative riffs. Olly Lex doesn't wait long to bring out her harsh vocals ; they are already biting through the mix alongside clean lines as early as the first verse. The occult imagery might suggest something darker, but the lyrics are actually pretty blunt about war, betrayal and tragedy ("brother kills sister, sister betrayed father"). The song hits its heaviest stride around the 01:53 breakdown, where the instrumentation drops into a groovier tempo and the vocals turn far more aggressive.

Visually, the video shot along the Georgian coastline fits the music well, giving the track a raw backdrop that matches its heavier moments. Whatever happened behind the scenes during that move, "Halo" comes out sounding focused, heavy and pissed off. Turn it up and judge for yourself.
Visuellement, la vidéo tournée le long de la côte géorgienne s'accorde bien avec la musique, offrant au morceau un décor brut qui correspond à ses moments les plus lourds.
