Je viens de mettre « Dance » de Despite The End dans mes écouteurs, et ce morceau mérite clairement qu'on s'y attarde. Le groupe français mélange metalcore agressif, mélodies accrocheuses et touches de metal progressif. On peut entendre passer des influences qui rappellent Slipknot, System Of A Down, Metallica ou encore Landmvrks, mais le morceau ne donne pas simplement l'impression de jouer au jeu des références : il possède sa propre énergie. « Dance » est extrait de l'EP And So... I've had "Dance" by the French band Despite The End on repeat in my headphones lately, and I just had to share it. If you're into that sweet spot between modern metalcore and old‑school heaviness, this really hits the mark. It's got that chaotic energy reminiscent of Slipknot or System Of A Down, mixed with the riffing of Metallica and a modern edge like Landmvrks. But honestly, it doesn't just feel like a checklist of influences; the band makes it their own. The track is from their 2026 EP And So... We March, with Vartan Yorganciyan on vocals.

Le clip réalisé par Danny Louzon accompagne bien le morceau. On y suit une sorte de course à la survie dans un univers complètement chaotique, en écho aux paroles dystopiques du titre. L'idée de danser au milieu des ruines d'un monde qui s'écroule, avec nos écrans toujours devant les yeux, colle assez bien à l'ambiance générale du morceau. Ce qui me plaît surtout, c'est le contraste entre l'agressivité et les passages plus mélodiques. Le morceau garde suffisamment de nerf pour ne jamais devenir trop propre ou trop prévisible. À écouter fort, évidemment.
The newly dropped music video (directed by Danny Louzon) perfectly captures the song's dystopian vibe: it's about literally dancing on the remains of a collapsing world while everyone else is glued to their screens. What really hooks me is the contrast between the raw aggression and those haunting melodic breaks. The lyrics hit hard, too: "We built a stage on ash and bone, a rave of ruin..." Critics are already noting how well they balance aggressive metalcore with melodic progressive elements, and I completely agree. It's a solid, cohesive release that proves they have a real place in the independent French metal scene. Crank it up, obviously.
