Review: NRWHL - "Glory Be"
ARIZONA POST‑HARDCORE CREW DELIVERS A RAW, ABRASIVE SLAB OF NOISE ROCK THAT ACTUALLY BITES
Arizona post‑hardcore crew NRWHL have just released their new full‑length record Glory Be, out now via The Charon Collective. Whenever a band tags themselves as "Christian post‑hardcore," my immediate impulse is to brace for impact. Too often, that label means you're about to hear watered‑down alt‑rock with dramatic clean choruses engineered to sell t‑shirts at youth group camps. I clicked play on Glory Be expecting an overly polite, sanitized exercise in formulaic post‑core. What actually caught me off guard is how noisy and aggressive this record turns out to be. Instead of relying on squeaky‑clean pop hooks, NRWHL lean straight into screeching guitar feedback, heavy basslines, and a chaotic wall of sound. The vocal delivery drops any attempt at polish, staying completely unvarnished and throat‑shredding throughout.

It's loud, abrasive, and sounds like it was tracked live in a basement rather than a sterile studio. The faith angle is there in the lyrics, but the band lets the sheer noise do the heavy lifting instead of preaching over clean riffs. I expected preachy, sanitized rock. I got a raw slab of post‑hardcore that actually bites.
C'est fort, abrasif, et ça sonne comme si ça avait été enregistré en live dans une cave plutôt que dans un studio stérile.
